About Me

Durham has been my home for over ten years. I’ve lived, laughed, learned, and grown here. The most important person in my life was born here, and these are our roots.

I pursued Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Later, I moved on to get an education in Marketing and Advertising Design at Sessions College, and officially started my profession in leadership as a Marketing Director and budget consultant. Then, while pregnant with my daughter, I earned my North Carolina Real Estate license.

That background, combined with my lived experience here in Durham, drives me to approach challenges with both strategy and compassion.

I’ve learned that though the plant may bloom, the most essential part is its roots. How grounded and nourished they are completely affects their ability to grow.

As someone who has found her truth while rooted in Durham, North Carolina, I am inspired to give back to this place that has given so much to me by putting communities over corporations and achieving progress through sustainability.

Join me on my campaign run as an Independent, because who we are, as Durmites, has never fit into a box.

Why I’m Running

I’m running for Durham City Council (Ward 1) to fight for community over corporations and progress through sustainability.

As an independent candidate, nonprofit founder, Marketing Director, and mother, I bring more than a decade of experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and leading initiatives that put people first.

My campaign is centered on protecting tenants and land, combating crime-bred addiction with compassion, addressing the housing crisis and investing in neighborhoods too often left behind.

I strive to be a beacon of integrity in politics and to ensure Durham’s systems truly reflect and serve its people.

Remember Who You Are

It’s time to speak up for what really matters— who we are, what we stand for, care about, and what we’re willing to give. For too long, we have sacrificed the wrong things, and I know you all feel it too.

When we were children, “they” told us we could be anything in this world as long as we put our minds to it, conveniently forgetting to mention that we could be anything in this world, except free.

My campaign is not just about the city council. This run is a movement for us all to reclaim our humanity and to reinstate the power of community and shared goals. Let’s prove to our children that we can truly change the world for the better – it just takes a first step, being brave, and honest.

So, I’m taking a step for all of us. This is only the beginning for us and an America we can be proud of— one that doesn’t bully the less fortunate, exploit the vulnerable, and protect resource-hoarders. I will be that voice like I have always been, and I need your help to amplify our voices to the rest of the world.

Starting with Durham: The heart of North Carolina, the pulse of the entire state, with a history rooted so deeply in community.

Let’s remember who we are, Bull City, and take charge!

What can Durham do for you? That is my only platform. I cannot be bought out, and I will never lose my integrity or let up.
